Visited South Korea twice, most recently in 2003 when he met the President, the Foreign Minister and other cabinet ministers. Took part in the Korean EU dialogue on strengthening mutual relations. Worked with fellow MEPs to lessen tension between the North and the South including a fact finding mission to Panmunjun on the border.
